INGREDIENTS:
- Spinach Leaves, washed and chopped, 2 cups
- Pigeon Peas (Toor Dal), 1 cup
- Bengal Gram (Chana Dal), 1 cup
- Onion, 1 large, chopped
- Ginger, grated, 1 tsp
- Garlic cloves, 1/2 tbsp, chopped
- Green chilis 3-4, slit
- Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
- Tomatoes 2, chopped
- Red chili powder 1 tsp
- Coriander Powder 1 tsp
- Cumin Powder 1 tsp
- Salt as required
- Mustard oil 2 tbsp
- Water 3 cups
METHOD:

Cook the dal in a pressure cooker and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan. Once hot, add cumin seeds. When they crackle, add onions and green chilies.
Saute till the onions turn translucent. Add the chopped tomatoes and salt. Once they turn soft, add the chopped spinach.
Cook over medium heat until the spinach wilts and reduces. Add the cooked dal and stir well to combine.
Add water as needed to achieve your desired consistency.
Bring this to a nice boil. Serve hot with rice or paratha and cucumber salad.
