INGREDIENTS:
- Tamarind (Seedless) 1 cup
- Dates (Seedless) 1 cup
- Hot Water 3 cups
- Jaggery 3 cups
- Cumin Powder (Roasted) 1 tbsp
- Red Chili Powder 1 tbsp
- Black pepper powder 1/2 tsp
- Black Salt 1 tsp
- Salt 1 tsp
METHOD:
In a large bowl, add tamarind and dates along with 3 cups of hot water. Cover and let them soak for 1 hour.
Transfer them to a blender and blend into a smooth paste.
Strain the paste using a sieve to remove any fibrous bits from the tamarind.
Add jaggery, rock salt, regular salt, and all the spice powders to the paste. Add more water if required.
Drizzle over chaat or serve as a dip.
